MISSION
STATEMENT
The overriding
mission of the Peyronie’s Disease Institute is to improve the
therapeutic results of men with Peyronie's disease (PD), so they may lead
healthier, happier, more normal and more productive lives. The
audience for this website are the countless men who have not
responded to standard medical care and are looking for
reasonable options to treat their PD, while still staying under the active
care of a primary care physician.
PDI
seeks to support and straighten the patient/physician
relationship by exploring and introducing the vast field of
Alternative Medicine for consideration into their discussion
of possible treatment options. The ideas and information
contained herein is clearly not intended as a substitute for
medical evaluation and consultation, nor to replace the
traditional doctor/patient relationship. The general knowledge
presented to the audience of PD sufferers is meant to be
brought into informed discussion with each man's treating
physician.
This objective will be achieved primarily by research and
analysis of the available literature, and our own research.
PDI
will gather and monitor results of our clients’ response to
their conservative alternative and complimentary medical treatment
through statistical analysis. In so doing
PDI
will develop and
advance valuable knowledge about PD, and
therefore improve conservative treatment of this unspoken problem
plaguing so
many men.
Our mission is to explore an alternative and complimentary
treatment option for PD that will work within the medical
mainstream, addressing not only the physical aspect of this
cruel disease, but also the significant emotional stress issues that often develop. Our goal will be
achieved by educating men with PD about the many
non-traditional treatment choices that are safe and
supported by reasonable science, with potential to synergistically support and
enhance the ability of their
tissue to heal and repair to the best of their ability.
Offering materials and products from well-established and reputable
companies, and making them easily available at reasonable
cost, all from one convenient location, advances our goal and
benefits the man with PD.
The staff of
